Introduction

Affection in Translation is the result of a predilection for affectionate creatures and attitudes—kindness, well-whishing and dedication. People who are consciously and deliberately affectionate against the currents of capitalist modernity and against the waves of ideals that reward mechanicalness are a force and a bliss.

Dissecting the means through which affection is transmitted from one being to the other reveals beauty. It also reveals humanity. What are the gestures, what are the words, the compassionate and hopeful looks accompanying it as it is passed on?

This is an area of knowledge that fascinates some and one that requires more attention from decision-makers—an improved, more audacious and honest vision of life is needed. I strongly believe in the directly proportional relationship between an affectionate character and intelligence.

In this space, I will tell you about people and ideas, and projects that were once ideas. Uniting all this will be affection.

Affection in Translation is the continuation, with new emphasis and perspective, of the work undertaken at my former blog, What Have You Done Today to Change The World? (in Portuguese): https://quefizestehojeparamudaromundo.weebly.com/

Let us not underestimate the power of the affectionate gesture before the belligerent mannerisms that are setting back the world.
